ARTICLE IV ∙ THE CLUB YEAR, ANNUAL MEETING, ELECTIONS
SECTION I CLUB YEAR.
The Club’s fiscal year shall begin on the first (1st) day of January and end on the thirty-first (31st) day of December of each year. The Club’s official year shall begin on the first (1st) day of January and end on the thirty-first (31st) day of December of each year.
SECTION II ANNUAL MEETING.
The November meeting shall be the Annual Meeting at which officers for the ensuing year and one (1) member to the Board of Directors for a three (3) year term shall be elected by secret, written ballot from among those nominated in accordance with Section IV of this Article. They shall take office on the first (1st) day of January of the ensuing year and each retiring officer shall turn over to his or her successor in office all properties and records relating to tat office within forty-five (45) days after the election.
SECTION III ELECTIONS.
The nominated candidate(s) receiving the greatest number of votes for each office or the Board of Directors shall be declared elected. If there is only one (1) candidate for each office, the Secretary will be empowered to suspend the designated election procedure and to cast a single ballot without polling the membership at the Annual Meeting.
SECTION IV NOMINATIONS.
No person may be a candidate in a Club election who has not been nominated. During the month of July, the Board shall select a Nominating Committee consisting of three (3) members and two (2) alternates, not more than one (1) of whom may be a member of the Board. The Secretary shall immediately notify in writing, within ten (10) days, the committeemen and alternates of their selection. The Board shall name a Chairman and it shall be his or her duty to call a committee meeting on or before the first (1st) day of October.
A. The committee shall nominate one (1) candidate for each office and one (1) candidate for a three (3) year term on the Board of Directors. After securing the consent of each person so nominated, the committee shall report their nominations to the Secretary, in writing, not later than the tenth (10th) day of October.
B. Upon receipt of the Nominating Committee’s report, the Secretary shall insure that each member is notified, in writing, of the candidates so nominated at least ten (10) days prior to the October meeting.
C. Additional nominations may be made at the October meeting by any member in attendance provided that the person so nominated does not decline when his or her name is proposed and provided further that if the proposed candidate is not in attendance, his or her proposer shall present to the Secretary a written statement from the proposed candidate signifying his or her willingness to be a candidate. No person may be a candidate for more than (1) position.
D. Nominations cannot be made at the Annual Meeting or in any manner other than as provided in this section.
